Feel supported!

Your doula will make sure you feel good, empowered and informed!

As Doulas it is our mission to create a supportive environment where you feel good, empowered and informed!

What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained professional in the art of navigating pregnancy, birth, the 4th Trimester and parenting newborns.

During your pregnancy your doula helps you and your birth partner review your options and prepare for a positive and empowered birth. When you hire your doula by your second trimester you have time to:

  • Create a birth plan

  • Work on breathing techniques

  • Practice comfort measures

Once labour begins, your doula is there for you in your home, at the hospital or the birthing room at the midwifery clinic. Your doula is your rock and is there to support and guide you and your partner through labour, birth and the first few hours of feeding and cuddling your new baby.

How can a doula impact my labour?

Good news! The continuous support of a doula has been shown to:

  • speed up your labour, shortening the average labour by 25% *1

  • decrease the likeliness of you asking for an epidural by 60% *2

  • decrease the chance you'll have a cesarean birth by 25% *3

Those are just a few examples!

We want to keep things private. How would a Doula fit in?

Each birth is a once in a life time experience and no one is better able to respect that than your Doula.

A Doula is part of your team - supporting you and your partner as you find your way through labour. Your Doula will protect the intimacy of your birthing space and guide you towards your goals with her knowledge and experience.

My partner is worried that having a Doula means they will be replaced.

Doulas and partners are an amazing team and bring different skills and knowledge to the table. Your partner knows you and is your emotional anchor. You are sharing this birth experience together and that is something no one can replace. Your Doula knows birth and brings with them confidence and experience. Together, your partner and your Doula make the most well-rounded support team you could hope for. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

Your Package

We recommend booking your consultation as early as possible! Once you have called your Doctor or Midwives - call your Doula. Meeting and booking the support of your Doula before 20 weeks means you will not only have a well supported birth, but a well supported pregnancy, too!

During your pregnancy your doula helps you and your birth partner review your options and prepare for a positive and empowered birth. Your Doula will help you create a birth plan, learn and practice comfort measures and birthing positions, and can give you resources to review with your care provider.

Each visit with your doula will begin with a “check in” to discuss your pregnancy and any challenges that have come up.

Once labour begins, your doula is there for you in your home, at the hospital or the birthing room at the midwifery clinic. Your doula is your rock and is there to support and guide you and your partner through labour, birth and the first few hours of feeding and cuddling your new baby.

  • We will stick by you throughout your birth.

  • When you are ready to rest and enjoy your new family we say our congratulations!

  • In 7-10 days we follow up with a 1 hour debrief in-home.
