Behind the scenes! What does a Hello, Baby! Childbirth Education Class look like?!

Have you ever wondered what we get up to in class?

Here is your chance for a little behind the scenes look!  All of our Hello, Baby! classes are packed with information, resources, and hands-on practice so that you walk away feeling confident in what you have learned.  Sharing this time with us and a small group of other parents is a great way to learn and to build community!  We try to keep things on point but fun and enjoyable for you, too.  It is a really well balanced class!

Does "hands on" participation sound intimidating?

Don't be shy!  This is YOUR class so you can participate as much or as little as you are comfortable.  Steph and Jenn - owners of Hello, Baby! and your teachers - can work with anyone and strive to make people feel comfortable.  We do most of the talking and are always happy to demonstrate or lend a helping hand while you are learning.  We use props, videos, and printed materials to help you get the answers to your questions as we move through class.

From booby balls to baby dolls, Hello, Baby! classes keep things light and interactive with props, videos, and demonstrations!

Sit down and get comfy!

During class we move from comfy couches down to the floor so dress comfortably and don't worry about a formal class setting.  There is a lot of "circle time" where we try things out and get to talk through the ins and outs of labour, birth, and caring for a baby!  One of our goals is to get you and your birth partner working together and into a good communication groove so there is lots of time for you to work together and with us as doulas.

Speaking of getting comfortable....

Learning how to manage the intensity of labour is probably one of the biggest reasons people register for Childbirth Education Classes. We help you understand what to expect during the different stages of labour and give you a variety of options for getting comfortable and keeping calm while you labour.  You and your birth partner will have a chance to figure out what techniques you like and want to practice as you continue getting ready for birth and which ones are just not for you!
