A well supported family

Moving through the transition into parenthood with more confidence and less stress.

What is a Postpartum Doula?

A professional trained to support the healing and transition that comes after giving birth and bringing baby home.

What does in-home support mean?

Your doula comes into your home to offer experience, knowledge, and companionship while you heal, bond with baby, and find your own way as a parent.

Each visit with your doula will begin with a “check in” to discuss your recent successes and challenges and to decide what your goals are for the rest of your visit. Your needs will change from visit to visit and your doula is always ready to jump in!

  • Breastfeeding + pumping support

  • Preparing nutritious food to support recovery + lactation

  • Time for self-care + sleep

  • Baby + sibling care

I have a partner and family support. How is a Postpartum Doula different?

Your partner and family are such an important part of your support network during the weeks and months after birth. Everyone is good at something, but no one is good at everything! That is where a Postpartum Doula comes in. Take stock of what you may need help with and think about which people in your circle of friends and family can support you.

  • Do you have someone who can guide you through breastfeeding and pumping challenges?

  • If lack of sleep is something you are worried about, is someone in your circle able to be there with you through the night once your partner has returned to work?

  • Are the people in your circle able to support your parenting choices without judgement?

If you have gaps in your support network, the in-home support of a postpartum doula may be the right fit for you!
